'I want it!' Dressing Table
This gorgeous dressing table was transformed with a multitude of contrasting and complimentary fabrics in different textures to produce one of my favourite pieces to date

Meadow Flowers Table
I stripped this gorgeous table back and painted it with my own special blend of colours, which has resulted in a pale blue hue. After painting the flower pattern, I finished the piece with layers of wax to protect it.
The metal studs on the table and natural faults in the wood have been highlighted, adding to its vintage charm.

FOR SALE
Gone Fishing Box
I re-designed this vintage fishing box into a picnic come sewing box. Lining the inside with with deck chair style fabric, which is echoed in the flower on the strap and the lavender heart; the pretty flower fabric has given it a feminine feel. The inside of the lid is padded, therefore can be used as a sewing box. I thought it would be cute, and a reminder of its previous purpose, to stitch 'gone fishing' ribbon to the long strap. This box can be used for so many things, stylish picnics, sewing or simply storage.

FOR SALE
Summer Sunflower Pouffe
I rescued this vintage 1970s vinyl pouffe, striped it ending up with straw everywhere. I covered it in thick felt then the sunflower fabric. Most of it was machine sewn but to fit it meant hand sewing it, a very long operation and so to give it an elegant finish I hand sewed this fabulously decadent matching trim. It's now a very soft, comfortable statement piece.

Bird in the Bush Bedside Table
This was a very old and dilapidated bedside table with the top having completely come adrift. The stunning bird and flower fabric covers the top and door with the original handle intact.
The drawers below were also purchased by the buyer of this. . .

Bird Party Lamps
These vintage lamps were bought at a Church Auction, raising funds for a new roof! The elegant look was completed with decadent heavily beaded trim.

Flowers and Stripes Blanket Box
This plain blanket box was livened up using brightly striped fabric, which contrasts with the funky floral top and feet. The underside of the lid and base are covered in a more traditional floral fabric while the sides are painted bright red and the bottom, ochre.
The new owner gave the following feedback:
I bought a beautifully restored and updated blanket box which is simply unique. The blanket box had been restored really sympathetically and combined a perfect balance of old with new. It was finished to an excellent standard with high quality materials. The blanket box arrived via post in a matter of days and I am thrilled with it. Lou was really helpful in advising me how to best care for my item and I can't wait to see the new pieces she plans to create.

Thanks

Mary
SOLD
Simply Sweet Table
This old table just needed a bit of TLC before it found its way to a new home.

SOLD
Secret Pirate Chest

This was a solid, heavily painted old wooden box with the key missing - perfect for a little boy! I transformed into the perfect pirate's chest by painting the inside deep red, adding a new chain, covering the sides in striped pirate fabric with pirate pictures fabric on the lid. I also found an ornate vintage key to go with it!
The new owner gave me the following feedback: FAB.U.LOUS! Thank you, arrived yesterday. My son LOVES it. A real heirloom piece.

Quiet Night
This little bedside table I kept for myself!
SOLD
Funky Floral Bar Stools
This pair of retro bar stools have been painted in Olive Green and waxed. The seats have been re-padded and upholstered in vibrant pink and green floral fabric giving them a modern twist.
The new owner's feedback was: These are truly beautiful, restored to better than their former glory perfectly!

SOLD
Heart of the House Dresser
This rustic, reclaimed pine dresser needed some TLC to bring out its tired beauty. It now lives quite happily in Southampton - much to some people's dismay . . . if only my house was big enough . . .

SOLD
Old White for the Old Man, with love . . .
My first commission, courtesy of Pata . . . "I don't want any of that shabby, scratched looking stuff. . . " said Pata - so here is the result . . .  I CAN do just normal. . .looking like it's fresh out of Country Linens! Honest! He liked it anyway, seemed quite surprised when he saw it finished. . . not the tired old pine it started off as.

I make the hearts too. . . plaster of Paris with dried rose petals and various scents, this one was English Rose, they help while the paint and glue odour is fading but look pretty too . . .some have the fabric matching the piece they're with on the back as well . . .

SOLD
Back in the Day Table
Another piece which required a lot of TLC to restore it to its former glory - no twisting involved! The prefect piece for the new owner who was restoring a cottage and was delighted finding this fitting rustic table.

SOLD
Little and Large Chests
And this little white chest was a complete surprise, it came inside the chest that I bought (top left) but I didn't realise until afterwards! It was a very rusty brown, not like the one it was hidden in so after trying to pep it up. . .and it obviously wasn't working, I decided to 'shabby' it up, and this is the result . . . the petrol blue interior stayed though. . .THAT, I liked!

SOLD
Old Soldiers
The top one was a real find . . . as well as having the remnants of travel stickers on it, inside was a farthing dated 1940 (which I'm going to make into a necklace at some point. . .when I find a minute. .ha!) and the Times from 1940 something. . .the adverts were the funniest, about how a woman should look after her man by having his meal ready and so on. . .
And the bottom one, the same again but with newspapers dated 1972 with front page news about the Vietnam war. . .I love the history that these travel chests carry with them: the stories they could tell. . .

Mine!
Play Me a Tune Bookcase
This piece I bought for my workshop to keep all my books and magazines clean and tidy but thought it far too lovely so it has found its way into my lounge. I covered the back in sheet music as well as the shelves, which can't be seen in this photo, after giving it a good clean and repairing the broken lead glass doors.

More pieces to follow. . . I'm currently working on a glass display cabinet and a vintage sewing box.
